This is a ShoutWiki help page, hosted at ShoutWiki Hub. If you want to suggest changes, leave a message on its talk page. If you want to replace this page with a custom help page for your wiki, click the create button above.

One of the standard features ShoutWiki offers to all wikis by default is the edit counter. You can use it to keep count of your own or other users' edits.

How do I use the edit counter?

  1. Go to Special:Editcount on your wiki
  2. Enter the user's name on the field
  3. Press the "Submit" button
  4. Enjoy the results!

Is there a way to embed the edit counter on a page?

Why yes, there actually is! To get the edit count of a user called John Smith, all you need to type to a page is {{Special:Editcount/John Smith}}. When you save the page, you'll see the number of contributions John Smith has made. For example, John Smith has made {{Special:Editcount/John Smith}} edits to this wiki could become John Smith has made 225 contributions to this wiki, depending on the edit count of the user. This is very handy as you don't need to update it manually.
